Know-How, Commitment and Community
Those three words summarize the essence and goal of the platform “Sustainable Switzerland”. It was created by NZZ (Neue Zürcher Zeitung) in cooperation with renowned partners from business and science, such as UBS, Swisscom and ETH Zürich. Beyond infotainment, the platform aims to bring real change among its readership. Because true sustainability needs concrete actions, not just passive reading and head nodding. That’s why NZZ asked thirty3 to build this platform; to engage, to commit and to connect the community living a sustainable lifestyle.

Create a Fully Customizable Information Platform
With the core readership in mind, the designers at thirty3 collaborated closely with the NZZ team come up with designs based on predefined branding to directly cater to the expected core readership. Beyond that we provided engineering and product management to build an information platform powered by a Content Management System for a fully customisable editor experience.

The Art of Synchrony
We used a pragmatic approach towards the Project Management solution. By keeping a solid collaboration framework between the customer's point of contact and our internal team we were able to improve communication, reduce silos and foster teamwork from both sides. By the customer's request, we managed the product in development cycles allowing us to work on the designs almost in parallel with the integration of the code. To further accelerate the creation process we built a strict design system based on product branding.

A New Home for Everything Sustainable using State-of-the-Art Technology
We created a custom Headless CMS solution for the customer so that they would be able to manage their own content in different languages using their very own flexible and custom designs for the frontend. The platform went live in May 2022 accompanied by a big advertisement campaign all throughout Switzerland.
